Things we never planned for or never wished to do sometimes cross our paths. A times, they are things that won’t add up to the success of what we have originally planned to do rather, reduce the productivity of out plans.
Proverbs chapter 7 literally talks about a young man who lacks understanding. While going his way, he got distracted by a lurking harlot and this action had cost his life.
Proverbs 7:6-8, “For at the window of my house I looked through my lattice, And saw among the simple, I perceived among the youths, A young man devoid of understanding, Passing along the street near her corner; And he took the path to her house”
When we operate in understanding, we begin to know what matters at what time. Not just taking paths that won’t help our lives and goals. Understanding will make us not to take unnecessary paths that will cost us like the gentleman who suddenly on his way had to take path to a harlot’s house which of course did cost him.
Concentration and focus must reign in us as we set to do what is required of us to be able to reach greater heights.
May God give us understanding. Amen.
